This evening marks one of a number of events to mark the Newcastle United supporters club London 50th Anniversary on Friday June 6th. This will take place from 7.30 – 11.00 at
The Parcel Yard, King’s Cross Station. ( www . parcelyard . co . uk
)The evening will comprise a talk in
with Frank Clark and Vic Keeble hosted by Sky Sports News Presenter
Pete Graves. A quality buffet and Geordie themed live music.
Frank Clark started with Co. Durham club Crook Town and then played over 460 games for Newcastle United including being a part of the famous Inter City fairs cup winning team before a move to Nottingham Forest and being in their European cup winning squad. He then went on to become their manager and then chairman. Frank was once president of the Newcastle United supporters club London, it is with great delight & fitting that he is here for this occasion.
Vic Keeble played for Colchester, West Ham United and made 104 appearances for Newcastle United scoring 56 goals. Vic is the only surviving member of 1955 cup winning side He scored in every round of the 1955 Cup run with the exception of the final. Vic has had some recent associations with the supporters club and we are truly honoured that he is here for our 50th year celebration.
Pete Graves is a television presenter working for BSkyB. Formerly a sports reporter with Metro Radio, Pete eventually took over the position of head commentator on all Newcastle United matches working alongside Mick Martin. Pete wrote, produced and hosted a special one hour programme dedicated to the life of his hero Sir Bobby Robson to mark his 75th birthday. The programme received widespread recognition and was aired again following Sir Bobby's death in July 2009. A genuinely likeable guy, we give thanks to Pete for wishing to take part in this event.
Live music will be brought by the talented Steve Walker who will play a number of Geordie themed songs. Steve regularly performs with a club band and has participated at the annual Blaydon Races day London event.
Other former Newcastle stars have been invited and we hope to announce additions to the line-up shortly.
